Sillage describes how noticeable a scent feels in a space—its “presence” in the room. In simple terms: it’s the strength level you experience while the candle is warming and the fragrance is diffusing.
Choosing the right sillage helps you match the candle to your room size, airflow, and personal preference. A well-chosen strength feels refined and comfortable—present, but not overpowering.

How to choose the right strength
- Room size: smaller rooms usually feel best with Soft or Moderate; larger rooms can handle Strong.
- Airflow: open windows, air conditioning, or open-plan layouts often need a stronger level to feel noticeable.
- Use case: bedrooms and offices often feel best with Soft/Moderate; living rooms can be Moderate/Strong.
- Personal sensitivity: if you’re scent-sensitive, start with Soft.
Room-based recommendation
- Bedroom: Soft → Moderate (calm, comfortable presence)
- Office: Soft → Moderate (clean, focus-friendly)
- Living room: Moderate → Strong (welcoming, noticeable)
- Large/open-plan space: Strong → Very Strong
Good to know
Sillage is influenced by your environment. The same candle can feel different depending on room size, ceiling height, humidity, and ventilation. If you’re unsure, starting with Moderate is usually the safest choice for most rooms.
