Sillage describes how noticeable a scent feels in a space while the candle is burning. It’s not just “more or less fragrance” — it’s the overall presence of the scent in a room, shaped by airflow, room size, and burn time.
Sillage levels
- Soft: subtle presence, close-range, ideal for smaller rooms or scent-sensitive spaces.
- Moderate: noticeable but balanced, suitable for everyday use in most rooms.
- Strong: more impactful presence, great for open areas or when you want a statement scent.
- Very Strong: maximum presence, best for large spaces or strong scent preference.
How to choose the right strength
- Bedroom: Soft to Moderate (for a calmer atmosphere).
- Living room: Moderate to Strong (depending on room size).
- Open-plan / high ceilings: Strong to Very Strong.
- Office: Soft to Moderate (less distracting).
Tip
Airflow matters. A drafty room can reduce perceived scent presence, while a closed room can make the same candle feel stronger.
